Year 4 Smile Brightly: Learning About Oral Health

An exciting oral health workshop with Smile Dental Practice

As part of their Science learning on the human body, Year 4 recently welcomed visitors from Smile Dental Practice for an engaging and informative workshop on oral health.

During the session, the children explored the vital role that dental professionals play in helping us maintain healthy teeth and gums. They learned about the importance of good oral hygiene, including effective tooth-brushing techniques, making healthy food and drink choices, and attending regular dental check-ups.

The workshop also provided an opportunity for the children to learn about the different careers within a dental practice and to ask thoughtful questions about the work carried out by dental professionals. Their enthusiasm and curiosity were evident throughout the session.

This valuable experience helped bring the children’s classroom learning to life, providing a meaningful real-world link to their Science curriculum. Most importantly, it reinforced the importance of developing healthy habits that support lifelong wellbeing.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the team at Smile Dental Practice for sharing their expertise and inspiring our pupils. The children left the workshop with a greater understanding of how to care for their teeth and the importance of maintaining a healthy smile.
