Ormiston Cliff Park Primary Academy follows the National Curriculum to teach Music.

At Ormiston Cliff Park Primary Academy, we empower children to become confident, skilled, and expressive musicians. We want every child to recognise themselves as musical and to nurture a lifelong love of music. Through purposeful teaching and practical experiences, pupils develop key musical skills in listening and evaluating, creating sound, notation, improvising and composing and performing. The curriculum introduces pupils to music from across the world, encouraging respect and appreciation for the music of all traditions and communities. They learn to use their voices and tuned/untuned instruments with control, creativity and focus, building a secure understanding of rhythm, pitch, tempo, structure and notation. Our music curriculum nurtures collaboration, perseverance, and self-expression — skills that enrich learning across all areas of life.
