Careers Week

As part of our ongoing Careers Related Learning, we will be holding our annual Careers Day across the academy on Friday 9th June.

Children will experience a range of activities during the week, encouraging them to think about their strengths, interests and how these may be helpful in the future. We will also build on the work we would have begun on introducing children to a wide range of potential careers.

We are asking that children come to school that day dressed as a career they may wish to follow. Despite being the dream of many, we are hoping to move away from the usual focus of footballer or celebrity and ask that you encourage children to think about alternative choices that may interest them. How many budding sports coaches, scientists, paleontologists or chefs do we have?

Following on from last year’s success, we are hoping to finish the day with a display of work children have completed at home. We would like children to complete a project at home on a career that interests them. This could be in the form of a piece of writing about a day in the life of a …, a board game on collecting the skills necessary to be a ….. or a model of all the equipment needed by a ….. – you may have another idea. We will then display the children’s work for other children to see. The projects can be brought into school from Wednesday 7th June.

We are hoping it will be a fun-filled day for children to consider their future opportunities and appreciate your continued support.
