Year 6 Time & Tide Visit

Pupils experience how life was during the Second World War

Year Six were recently able to visit the Time and Tide Museum to find out all about life in Great Yarmouth during the Second World War as part of their history curriculum.

Many of our children dressed as evacuees for the day and you can see some of their brilliant costumes in the images posted.

We worked in four groups and found out about life in the Home Guard, food rationing in shops, domestic chores at home without the use of modern technology and also the critical role of ARP wardens!

Some of the children were able to hold a Lee Enfield rifle, climb inside a Morrison shelter and even try on a real gas mask.
