Year 5's Inspiring Encounter with "War Dog"

Year 5 had a fantastic time joining a virtual session with author Tom Palmer and illustrator Carolina Rabei, who brought their powerful book War Dog to life. With over 300 schools tuning in nationwide, the event offered meaningful moments to pause and reflect on the incredible contributions animals made during the World Wars.

🎨 Carolina guided the children through a delightful sketching activity, helping them draw Judy, the brave dog at the heart of the story. 🐾 Meanwhile, Tom captivated everyone with fascinating insights from his research, including intriguing facts that didn’t make it into the final book.

💬 After the session, the children eagerly shared their thoughts and knowledge about the sacrifices animals made in wartime. It was a heartwarming opportunity to reflect, remember, and express gratitude for these unsung heroes.
