Chinese New Year 2025

Reception enjoy learning all about the Chinese New Year

Reception had a fun week finding out about how Chinese New Year is celebrated.  We read The Great Race story all about the Zodiac Calendar and found out the sequence of the 12 animals and why they are ordered this way.  We welcomed parents/carers to a Stay and Play learning session themed on Chinese New Year.  Throughout the week we wrote Chinese numbers, explored Chinese food in our role play area, made Chinese dragons/lion masks and puppets and wrote New Year wishes.  We finished the week off in the hall dancing to Chinese parade music.
