As part of our career’s week, Reception and Key Stage One were lucky enough to have a performance by Rudkin & Hicks called ‘Tony and Ray find their feet’. This silent performance combined movement, dance and drama to tell the story of workmen who had come to fix our squeaky hall floor!
The children all listened really well and found it very funny when sound effects were included to make the floor squeak. The trick with balancing a broom on the foot was also admired!
This was then followed up by a Q and A session where the children found out more about how the performance came together, about the careers of the performers and how the music came together with the movement.
Year Two then enjoyed a workshop which involved learning different dance movements and trying to keep those movements in time to the music.
Thank you to Anna at Out There Arts for offering us the opportunity. Rudkin and Hicks will be at the Great Yarmouth Out There Festival if anyone would like to see them perform again with their families.
