On Monday 12th February, the year 4 children enjoyed having a visitor from East Norfolk College, teaching children about the different decisions they may need to make about spending, saving and giving. She began by talking about her role at the college, and what she enjoyed about her job.
They began the session by thinking about the words saving and spending and when it is good to save and good to spend. They then explored making choices in relation to both of those.
Children moved on to plan their own saving and spending by completing a budget plan based on saving for a specific item. It was a great morning, and children reported that they had learnt lots and had a better understanding of managing money. Some were surprised at how long it took to save for their treat!
Staff were really impressed with how the children listened and participated, as usual, making us very proud.
