Pupils and teachers from Year 6 recently enjoyed a day sailing – gaining experience in sailing a boat and learning about the history of the Norfolk Broads.
As part of the annual school trip programme, all pupils were able to participate in the sailing trips, thanks to Hunter’s Yard in Ludham.
Pupils were supported by the crew to haul the sails, take the helm and learn how the traditional sailing boat is operated. Any sailing experience ensures that those taking part are not simply watching the crew sail the boat – it’s a hands on activity with everyone on board playing a part in the operation.
