U11 Boys Football

More Late Football Drama

It was an uncharacteristically nervy start and we soon found ourselves 1-0 down after a Woodlands long throw caused chaos in the penalty area. As the first half continued, Cliff Park improved, seeing several of our shots blocked on the goal line. Just before the break, we equalised after Finnley set up Leo for his first of the match.

Cliff Park controlled the ball for much of the second half but it was Woodlands again who were able to take the lead after a break down the right wing and a fine finish. With nothing to lose, we had to throw caution to the wind in an attempt to salvage the much-needed draw and it was Leo once again who was able to find the back of the net, his second of the match and his twentieth goal of the season for the U11s.

We now advance to the League Final which will be played in June and celebrate that the U11 boys’ have now reached both the league and cup finals for three consecutive years!
