The U11 boys’ played their last fixture of the season: the cup final against Martham.
As was the case in the league final earlier this month, it was a close encounter between two very strong teams.
Cliff Park made a strong start and took the lead after a long-range strike from Leo before Martham equalised just before half time. Chances were few and far between in the second half but it was Martham who were able to score a winning goal. In matches like this, both teams are already winners in so many ways having reached the final in the first place. But, unfortunately, somebody has to win and somebody has to lose.
We are all so proud of the children and all they have achieved with the football teams they have been a part of for the past three years. They have always played the game in the right way, with smiles on their faces, and have been fantastic ambassadors for the Academy.
As many children have now played their final match for Cliff Park, we wish them well and look forward to hearing about their continued sporting successes as they ascend into high school, and we thank them for all of their hard work and dedication.
Huge thanks are also reserved for the parents, family members and friends who have helped to transport the children all over the district this year and in previous years. Without your incredible support, these opportunities would not be available to the children and the school football teams would not exist.
