Year 3 Science Day

Enjoyable Science day for Year 3

Year 3 enjoyed a Science/Enrichment Day on Tuesday. Although the day started off extremely wet the sun came out and we were able to spend most of the day outdoors. The children used the skills and knowledge they have acquired this half term to find and explore different habitats around the school grounds. Using their scientific skills, they created a new animal thinking about the adaptations it would need to survive in its habitat.

The children made a variety of nature sculptures using all natural materials and recycled milk bottles to create bird feeders they can take home. They also used salt dough to make leaf/flower impressions that will be a keepsake from the day.

Everyone enjoyed a picnic on the field where we were joined by lots of hungry seagulls! The busy day ended with a very refreshing slush puppy ice pop which cooled us all down.
